Customer help.

Answers about photo orders, pickup, sizes and your account.

Frequently asked questions

The same answers the NEED HELP? button gives. Search, or browse the list.

Can I get a print size that is not listed?

Ask the Photo Center for a quote.

Can I give several photos the same print size at once?

Yes. Tick the box on each photo (or Select all). When two or more are ticked a bar appears: pick the size, paper and number, then tap Add to N selected. It adds to what each photo already has; it does not replace it.

Can I order photos from my phone?

Yes — most orders come from phones. The page is the same, stacked: Make something, My photos, then the work area. View order at the bottom of the screen opens Your order.

Can I order prints and a photo gift in the same order?

Photo prints are collected at the store, photo gifts are posted. If you put both in the same order, the whole order is collected at the store — the gift is posted to the shop and we call you when everything is in. If you would rather have the gift posted to your home, order it on its own.

Can I pay for a photo gift when I pick it up?

No. Photo gifts are paid for online. The basket says so if there is a gift in it: “Photo gifts are paid for online — they can’t be paid for at pickup.” Nothing is made until the order has been paid and the Photo Center has checked it.

Can I print on the back of a shirt, a jersey or the duffle bag?

Yes. The men’s and kids t-shirts, both youth jerseys and the duffle bag have a Front and a Back switch above the design. The back is optional and costs nothing extra: leave it plain, add a different photo, or tick Same photo both sides. If you change your mind, Leave this side plain takes the photo off the back.
The premium t-shirt is different: printing its back costs more, so you choose Front or Front & back as an option, like the size and colour. With Front & back, both sides need a photo.

Can I see what a photo gift will look like before I order?

Yes. The design area shows the shape of the thing you are making — the puzzle with its cut lines, the hoodie with the print on the chest — so you can move your photo around until it sits where you want it.

Can one photo have more than one size, or the same size on two papers?

Yes. Each photo keeps its own list — for example “1 @ 5×7 Glossy” and “1 @ 8×10 Matte”. Size and paper both count as a difference.

Do I need an account to order photos?

No. You can order as a guest. Signing in adds two things: your photos are kept in My photos for next time, and you can see where your photo orders have got to.

Do photo gifts come to the store, or to me?

They are posted to you. Checkout offers one delivery option for gifts, Standard shipping. The cost is worked out from the real price of sending your gifts to your address, and you see it before you pay. Some kinds of gift are sent as separate parcels — a canvas and a mug, for example — and each parcel is charged its own shipping. Faster delivery is not offered.

Do you have active discount codes or promotions?

Sign up for our newsletter to get special deals and discount codes!

Do you have retail store locations?

Yes! We are located at 205 North E Street, Oskaloosa, IA 52577

Do you offer bulk or wholesale orders?

No we do not.

Do you offer express shipping?

No. Photo gifts go by Standard shipping only; faster delivery is not offered. Photo prints are picked up at the store.

Do you offer free shipping?

Pickup at the store is free, and that is how photo prints are collected. Photo gifts are posted to you, and their shipping cost is worked out at checkout from the real cost of sending your gifts — some kinds travel as separate parcels, each with its own shipping — so gift shipping is not free.

Do you ship internationally?

No. Photo gifts are posted within the US only. Photo prints and everything else are picked up at the store, 205 N E St, Oskaloosa.

Do you ship orders, or do I pick them up?

Photo prints, collages, calendars, cards, banners and passport photos are picked up at the store, 205 N E St, Oskaloosa — pickup is free. At checkout, tap Pickup under Delivery; the page opens on Ship, so do tap it.
Photo gifts are the exception: they are posted to you within the US by Standard shipping, and the cost is shown at checkout before you pay. An order with both prints and a gift is collected at the store as a whole — the gift is sent to the shop and we call you when everything is in.

Does uploading a photo put it in my cart?

No. Uploading only puts the photo in My photos. Nothing costs anything until you choose a size or put the photo into something you are making.

How can I contact customer service?

Quickest way is to call +1 (641) 673-3439

How can I pay for my order?

Card, Shop Pay or PayPal — or Pay at pickup, where nothing is charged now and you pay at the register when you collect. Pay at pickup is for photo prints only: an order with a photo gift in it is paid online.

How do I add photos on the Print Photos page?

Tap Add photos in the My photos tray, or drag photos onto it from a computer. They upload while you carry on.

How do I change a photo after it is in my order?

In Your order, tap Edit under that photo. It opens by itself in the work area with all its lines. Change them and tap Save changes. Remove takes the photo out of the order.

How do I change my email or address?

Profile & addresses in your account. Your email is also how you sign in, so when you change it we ask you to confirm first — the next code goes to the new address. Photo gifts are posted to the delivery address you give at checkout; for photo prints, which are picked up, an address is only used to reach you.

How do I check out?

1. Tap Add to cart under Your order.
2. One last look shows a real preview of every print. Fix anything cut off, then tap Looks good — add to cart.
3. In the cart, go to checkout.

How do I make a collage, calendar or card?

Tap its tile. The work area shows the real page. Pick a style, tap a spot on the page, then tap a photo in My photos to put it there. What you see is what prints. Tap Add to order when it is done.

How do I make a photo banner?

1. Tap Banner and choose a length.
2. Choose Ready-made or Freeform under Layout.
3. Add your photos and words.
4. Tap Add to order.

How do I order passport photos online?

Tap Passport, then tap one head-and-shoulders photo taken against a plain light background. A guide opens: line the head up inside the oval, with the top of the head between the two marks. You get four 2×2 in photos on one 4×6.

How do I order photo prints?

1. Tap Prints.
2. Tap photos in My photos to bring them into the work area.
3. Under each photo, tap + Add a size or paper and choose the size, the paper and how many.
4. Tap Add to order.

How do I put words on trader cards?

Trader cards and trader-card magnets have a Words on it box under the design, with four lines: Name, Number, Team and Year. Each line takes up to 24 characters. Leave a line empty and nothing prints there.
Each side of the card has its own words. Move to the other side with the side switcher and fill in that side’s lines. The words appear on the preview as you type, in the same place and size they will print.

How do I sign in to my account?

Tap the person icon at the top of any page, then Sign in. Enter your email and we send a code. There is no password.

How do I stop part of my photo being cut off when it prints?

Tap Adjust crop beside the size. Drag the photo inside the box, zoom, or rotate. Fill the print fills the paper edge to edge; Whole photo (white borders) shows all of it with white bands. Each size keeps its own crop.

How is the Print Photos page laid out?

• Make something at the top — what you are making.
• My photos — every photo you have uploaded (and, if signed in, your saved ones).
• The work area — the one thing you are making right now. A coloured band at its top tells you which.
• Your order — beside the work area on a computer, behind the View order button on a phone. Everything you have finished making.

How long do photo gifts take?

Longer than prints, because each one is made for you. For many gifts the editor shows a real estimate — for example “Delivered in 7–8 business days” — and it comes from the company that makes it, so it changes with how busy they are. Some gifts show no estimate: we only show a date the maker has given us, never a guess. Photo prints are usually ready the same day; a gift is not.

How much do photo prints cost?

Prices show beside every size and paper choice on the Print Photos page, so they are always current.

I tapped a different tile and a box popped up. What does it mean?

You had something in the work area that was not in your order yet. Choose Add it to my order, Discard it, or Keep working.

Is there someone I can ask on the website?

Yes — the maroon NEED HELP? button at the bottom right of every page. It opens an assistant that answers questions about the store and can look up an order for you.
It answers from the store’s own list of questions — the same ones on the Customer help page — so what it tells you about sizes, pickup and payment matches the rest of the site. It is not a person, and it cannot see how far along a print job is. For that, or for anything it cannot answer, phone the Photo Center.

Some photo gifts have two sides. Do I need two photos?

No. Keychains, the bamboo and metal ornaments, the dog tag and the small bag tag print on both sides. Use a different photo on each side, or choose Same photo both sides. The large bag tag has a background and a smaller inset picture; the trader cards have more than one print area. Each one takes its own photo, and the same switcher moves between them.

What can I make in the Photo Center online?

The dark red Make something row at the top of the page has one tile for each thing:
Prints: Photo prints from wallet size to posters — any size, any paper, any number of copies for each photo.
Collage: Two to six photos arranged on one print, in a layout you choose.
Calendar: A twelve-month wall calendar for next year, with your photos on it.
Photo card: A card with your photo and a greeting, 4×6 or 5×7.
Holiday card: The same, with holiday greetings.
Banner: A long banner, 8 inches tall and 2 to 11 feet long, with your photos and your words on it.
Passport: A set of four US passport photos (2×2 in) on one 4×6.
Photo gifts: Your photo on something to keep or give — a mug, a water bottle, a keychain, a magnet, a canvas or wall print, an ornament, an acrylic block, a button, a bag tag, a dog tag, coasters, trader cards, a jigsaw puzzle, a beach towel, a throw blanket, a tote bag, gift wrap, a hoodie, a t-shirt or jersey, a cap or beanie, a backpack or duffle bag, a mouse pad or a scrunchie.

What can I put on a photo card?

• Sizes: 4×6 or 5×7, portrait or landscape.
• Styles: Full photo, White band, or White border.
• Photo card greetings: Happy Birthday, Thank You, Congratulations, With Love.
• Holiday card greetings: Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Season’s Greetings, Peace, Love & Joy.
• Or choose Write your own… and type up to 60 characters.

What does the coloured quality dot beside a print size mean?

Green: Great — Plenty of detail for that size.
Amber: Good — Fine at normal viewing distance.
Red: Will look soft — try a smaller size — The photo is small for that print. You can still order it.

What happens after I place a photo order?

1. We look at it: Photo Center staff check every photo order, and nothing prints by itself. If a photo will disappoint you, we call before printing. 2. We print it: most standard prints are ready the same day, often within the hour. 3. We tell you: you get an email when it is ready (and a text if you gave a mobile number). 4. You collect it at the Photo Center counter at 205 N E St; if you chose Pay at pickup, you pay then.

What happens to the photos I upload?

• They upload to private storage and are never published.
• Photos attached to an order are deleted 30 days after the order, or straight away if the order is turned down.
• Photos saved to My photos stay until you delete them, unless the store sets a limit and tells you.
• We will not copy a professional photographer’s work without their written permission.

What if my photo is too small for a photo gift?

The page tells you before you add it. Each gift needs a certain number of pixels, and a photo that is too small is flagged rather than quietly printed blurry.

What if you cannot print something I ordered?

Occasionally an order has to be turned down — a photo did not upload properly, or it is professional work we are not allowed to copy. You get an email saying why, and you are not charged.

What is a photo banner?

A long print, 8 inches tall, from 2 feet (8×24) to 11 feet (8×132) in one-foot steps, with photos and words — “Happy Birthday” across the middle and photos at each end, for example.

What is in my account?

Tap the person icon and you land on your own account pages, not a separate Microsoft or Shopify screen. Five places: Photo orders to track prints and reorder, My photos to see everything you have saved, Appointments, Order history, and Profile & addresses to change your name, phone, email or address.

What is saved in My photos?

When you are signed in, photos you upload stay in My photos for next time, along with any edits. Once you have saved photos, the tray can show All, Added today or Saved. Use the ⋯ button on a photo to edit it, restore the original, or delete it from My photos.

What is the difference between Ready-made and Freeform banners?

Ready-made gives you fixed spots — Photos each end, Photo strip or Framed row. Tap a spot, then a photo. Longer banners get more photo spots.
Freeform lets you put things anywhere: tap a photo to drop it on, drag to move, pull a corner to resize, and use + Add text for extra words. Switching keeps everything already on the banner.

What is the stitching colour on photo gifts?

The printed-all-over items are sewn together, and you choose white or black thread. It is its own option, like the size.

What photo calendars do you offer?

8×10 (tall) or 10×8 (wide), January to December of next year. The month grid is filled in for you.
8×10: Collage (photo spaces above the year) · Full page photo (one photo, months along the bottom)
10×8: Basic photo · Full page photo · Rounded boxes (twelve small photo spaces)

What photo files can I upload?

• JPEG, PNG or HEIC — anything a phone or ordinary camera takes. iPhone HEIC photos are converted for you.
• PDF — every page becomes its own picture. PDFs can only be printed at the large sizes, 11×14 and up, so use one for a poster, a programme or artwork rather than a wallet print.
• Up to 40 MB per photo.
• Up to 50 photos at a time — a PDF counts as one per page.

Where do I order photos online?

On the Print Photos page. Open Photo Center in the top menu and pick what you want to make, or go straight to mahaskadrug.com/pages/print-photos.

Where do I see the photos I have saved?

My photos, in your account. It shows every saved photo with the date you uploaded it, and marks the ones you have edited. To use, edit or delete a photo, the button there takes you back to the Photo Center where you can see it full size.

Where is the cork coaster?

The single cork-backed coaster is no longer sold. The Coaster set of four replaced it. If you ordered a cork coaster before, your order is still made and sent as normal.

Who do I contact about a photo order?

Mahaska Drug Photo Center · 205 N E St, Oskaloosa, IA 52577 · (641) 673-3439 · contact@mahaskadrug.com
Monday–Friday 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM · Saturday 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM · Sunday 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Why doesn't my unfinished work show at checkout?

Only things in Your order go to the cart. Add or cancel what is in the work area first.

Why is my photo shown cut into shapes on an all-over-print shirt, jersey or bag?

The printed t-shirts, jerseys, beanie, backpack and bags are printed on flat fabric and then cut and sewn. The design area shows the whole printed piece with the cut lines on it; what is shaded is trimmed off, and the picture of the finished item shows only what is left. Keep faces inside the unshaded part. The cut lines are the maker’s own.

Will my passport photo be accepted?

Our staff check every passport photo before it prints and will call you if something looks wrong. Even so, the passport office makes the final decision, and we cannot guarantee any office will accept a photo.
